Getting started with the ProjectSathi demo
How to get into the live demo, set it up for your industry, and see most of what the product does in one sitting — for engineering teams and for architecture and interior design studios.
- 1
Open the demo
Go to dashboard.projectsathi.org on a laptop or desktop. It runs in the browser — nothing to install. A phone works too, but the board, the invoice and the floor-plan canvas are easier on a bigger screen.
- 2
Enter your company email and WhatsApp number
The access form asks for your name, company, a company email address and a WhatsApp number, plus your role and how many active projects you run. Personal addresses (Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook and the like) aren't accepted — the demo is for businesses. We use the number to follow up about the demo.
- Use your work email
- Pick your country code before typing the WhatsApp number
- You get straight in — there's no email to confirm
- 3
Choose your industry
Pick the one closest to your work: Civil & Infra, Mechanical & EPC, Chemical & Process, Energy & Utilities, or Architecture & Interiors. The first four open the engineering edition; Architecture & Interiors opens the studio edition. The whole workspace — sample projects, labels, the tour — changes to match.
Civil & InfraEngineeringRoads & highways · Bridges & flyovers · Buildings · Real estate portfolio
Mechanical & EPCEngineeringPlant shutdown / turnaround · Fabrication & erection · Piping
Chemical & ProcessEngineeringCapex & expansion · ETP & utilities upgrade
Energy & UtilitiesEngineeringSolar parks · Transmission lines · Substations
Architecture & InteriorsStudioResidential architecture · Commercial & institutional · Interior design
- 4
Choose the type of work
Narrow it down. A civil contractor might pick Roads & highways; a mechanical team, Piping; an energy developer, Solar parks. Architecture & Interiors lets you pick more than one — residential, commercial & institutional, and interior design — because most studios do a mix.
- 5
Tell us about your studio
Architecture & Interiors onlyEnter your studio's name and city, and your GSTIN if you want to see your own on the invoices (leave it blank and a sample one is used). Add team size and typical fee per project. The city sets your GST state, which decides whether invoices charge CGST + SGST or IGST. We then create six sample projects with clients in your city, stage-wise fee invoices and site visits — all editable.
- The GSTIN is checked as you type
- If the GSTIN's state doesn't match your city, you're told
- 6
Pick your modules
The modules your industry uses most are already ticked, grouped by plan (Starter, Growth, Enterprise). Untick what you don't need or open a group to add more. Dashboard always stays on. You can change modules later from the workspace without starting over.
- 7
Take the 90-second guided tour
The tour walks you through the screens that matter for your industry — the morning numbers, what needs attention, the schedule or task board, spend against budget, billing, and switching between roles. Skip it if you'd rather explore; you can restart it any time.
- 8
Try five things yourself
Everything in the demo is sample data, so click freely — nothing you do reaches a real client or bank. The five tasks below show most of what the product does in about fifteen minutes.
- 9
Book a walkthrough on your own projects
When you've seen enough, book a walkthrough. We'll set the product up with one of your live projects — your BOQ and team for an engineering firm, or your clients, fee structure and invoice format for a studio — and go through it with you.
Step 8, in detail
Five things to try in each edition.
Each takes two or three minutes. Do them in order and you will have touched most of the product.
Engineering edition
Civil & Infra, Mechanical & EPC, Chemical & Process, Energy & Utilities
- 1
Approve a progress bill
Open Project Intelligence → All bills. Pick a bill that's waiting, check the submitted and recommended amounts, and approve it (or reject it with a reason). The register and the dashboard update straight away.
- 2
Run payroll and download the NEFT file
Open Financial Control → Salary processing, preview the month's payroll and process it. Then go to Bank transfers and download the NEFT bulk-payment file, and open Payslips to print one.
- 3
Raise a material request
Open Inventory & Supply → Material requests and raise one for a site. Approve it, then issue the stock against it and watch the stock level change in Stock monitoring.
- 4
Export a report
Almost every register has an Export menu. Open Dashboard → Reports (or any list) and export it to Excel (CSV) or PDF.
- 5
Switch your role
Use the role switcher in the header to view the workspace as the owner, a project manager or a site engineer. The project manager doesn't see payroll, AI documents or admin; the site engineer sees site work, stores and mail, and can't edit records.
Architecture & Interiors
Residential, commercial & institutional, interior design
- 1
Move a task on the board
Open Projects, pick a project and go to its tasks. Drag a card from To do to In progress — or on to Review and Done.
- 2
Add expenses and watch the budget bar
Open Expenses and add two or three expenses to one project. Its budget bar moves from green to amber as spend nears the budget, and turns red once it goes over.
- 3
Create a GST invoice and download the PDF
Open Invoices and create one for a project stage. The tax follows the place of supply (the client's state unless you set it to the property's state) — CGST + SGST inside your state, IGST outside it — with the SAC code, the invoice number and the amount in words filled in. Download the PDF, then mark it sent and paid.
- 4
Generate a floor plan and edit it
Open Floor plans → New floor plan. Enter the plot size, bedrooms and road side, turn Vastu on if you like, and generate. Pick one of the three options, type "make the kitchen bigger", drag a room on the canvas, then export a PNG or an A4 PDF.
- 5
Share the client portal link
Open Client portal, choose Create link for a project and open the link in a new tab. That's what your client sees: the current stage, floor plans, invoices paid and billed, and recent site visits — read-only, no login. Switch it off and the link stops working.
A few things worth knowing
- Everything you see is sample data for your industry. Change things freely — you can't break anything that matters.
- Changed your mind about the industry or modules? Change them from inside the workspace; you don't have to fill in the form again.
- Restart the guided tour any time from the header.
- Modules you left out still wait in the sidebar. Open one and switch it on, and it fills with the same sample data.
Running a design studio? Read GST invoicing for architecture firms in India before you raise your first invoice in the demo.
